the Texas teams of '04 and '05 really made the play famous and very well-known with Vince Young running the zone read as their bread and butter play and winning a national championship with it - Luke

As far as the triple(veer) out of the gun,tony demeo has a great book/video on it. Texas A&M does run it.Chizik at Texas(IowaSt.) still has not figured out how to stop it.

Texas A&M does run it.Chizik at Texas(IowaSt.) still has not figured out how to stop it. not sure where you intend this to go, but I would venture to say UT wasn't necessarily unable to "figue it out" ... in that game A&M had 302 yards of total offense - with 179 coming on their 2 scoring drives. While their offense came up big when it was really needed, I would say their defense getting 4 turnovers and limiting the longhorns to under 300 yds offense was more vital to them winning that game (or UT's poor showing on offense, whichever you wish to say it) than chizik not being able to "figure out" the vaunted A&M offense. 4.7 yds per play and 2 TD's (while sufficient) just doesn't appear to me the work of an offense that is totally "boggling" their opponent ... now, their crucial execution during the game's most critical moments ... THAT had UT boggled, no doubt...
