I'm David...We scrim'd the team in the pre-season I am to play this week.
They are 7-0 / undefeated. No team has come close to beating them this year. When we scrim'd them, it was like watching a varsity team play a freshman team...but these kids (12/13 yr olds) are all the same age.
So what the hell do I do? We've had a brutal schedule already this year going 2-5...4 losses against teams with 6-1 records.
Two weeks in a row we played 1 loss teams and lost only by a TD. My kids are really down on themselves, now the luck of the draw has them playing the best of the best.

tighten the splits, 2.5 yards a cloud of dust. just run alot of power and misdirection stuff with power...let the clock tick. on defense, gamble like crazy trying to force three and outs or turnovers...dont kick deep, try to block every punt, dont punt ...dont pass. dont run wide... just pound the ball right at them. put in one or two "gadget" plays to get your kids excited. just my thoughts.

Set a goal of playing to "Win, one play at a time!" Focus on stopping their top threat and coach them up! Play the Field position game. Try to keep the clock running. Use the short passing game if your QB can complete the ball. And pray!

thanks guys, good advice. I also thought of having the kids get excited about playing against the best of the best.
Will put in some gadget kick returns. I do have a big strong O-Line so will try and pound it. My best threat is a WR...I may just put him RB to get him the ball.

Our best guy with the ball is a WR too and we put rocket sweep in for him. We're finding out it can help loosen the edge for power too.

I ended up putting my WR as a DB and taking him off starting offense. I would sub him in when I wanted to pass. Didn't blitz to much...but I DID put in the wedge. We bullied 'em for 1-4 yards with the wedge. At one point calling it 3 straight times to get a first. It wasn't the best in getting yards...BUT, it did open up a lot of other things for the offense. Lost 14-7. Had it at 0-0 at late in the 3rd quarter. I'm taking this as a win
