When you are at a full padded camp are you worried about injuries?
What I mean is, I have seen high school teams at camps at major universities get after it big time in the summer. The hits are big and the people running the field let the teams play.
I work at a camp where the scrimmages are violent, but the players are never taken to the ground. Sometimes going to the ground happens, but usually the teams "buy into" not slamming the offensive player to the ground. In 10 years I have only seen one major injury.
Thoughts on the chance you could lose your stud, or any other player, at a camp.

Yes, I WILL NEVER SEND ANY OF MY KIDS to another full contact camp. Idiot college coaches like to match up best on best and and get kids hurt. One of our kids almost blew out his knee at a helmet and shoulder pads camp a couple of years ago.

We go to a full contact team camp, but it is a quick whistle scrimmage situation. We have never lost a kid due to a serious injury and this will be our 7th year attending a team camp.

What schools have these camps? I havent seen many around here(PA). What do the state associations say about them? Do they have rules about attending them? Or is it unregulated since it is run by an outside source?

St. Cloud State, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, Univ of South Dakota, Winona State.
We can coach our kids in the summer from the first day of June until the last day of July. The first 2 weeks of August we cannot do anything with our kids unless it is with strength and conditioning.

HIGH & HARD all the time. In practice in the season, we may go a 5 min period where we are 100% live. Rep rep rep.....good football is relatively safe....it's those times when you're tired, going half speed, and/or practicing bad form that folks using get dinged

two days before we left for Team Contact camp, our "only" QB went down with a severly sprained ankle playing pickup basketball. We didn't have any major injuries in the last four summer Team contact camps, though.
Had guys get broken bones and tears in baseball though.....
