I am wanting to start collecting money online for our sponsorships, golf tournament hole sponsors, etc.. I was wondering if anyone had used gofundme.com, eteamsponsor.com or HUDL campaigns for this sort of thing or if they used them just for "beg letter" types of fundraisers. I'd like to have three or four tier sponsor levels and have various swag for each from a t-shirt to sweatshirts, popcorn, reserved parking and so on. I also want to give credit to the kids who help get the sponsors.
Would this work or should I just try to find another way to collect online payments? I'd probably just set up a Paypal store but our district doesn't allow us to use off campus accounts.

I think those are some pretty good ideas. We have a big auction night to raise money for the entire school and they sell a parking spot in the front row for kids to park in for the year. Its something that cost nothing for the school and can go for a few hundred dollars. So ideas like the reserved parking could be great.
Im not sure if you collect your rejected football helmets but those would be decent gifts to give as a display/trophy. There is a thread somewhere on huey where people discussed what they did with their old helmets. Someone actually cut their helmet in half and mounted it to a piece of wood and giving that as a trophy.
I would suggest if you go the online route that you do your research. All of those options (pay pall, go fund me, etc.) will take some sort of a cut from the revenue you raise.

I know this post is three years old, but thought I'd respond anyway. New to the group, so sorry if I reply out of turn. I'm co-founder of a new online fundraising platform, FanAngel.com, that support exactly what keysersoze is asking about. Beg Letter style fundraising WITH reward options. Most platforms don't support everything you asked about. I believe RallyMe and FanAngel are the only two that support exactly what you mentioned. eTeamSponsors does beg letters, but no rewards and charges in the 20% range for fees. GoFundMe is not really a good platform for sports fundraising -- great for medical and disaster, but doesn't have important features like individual goals/photos for each athlete (sounds like a small thing, but this is really important for team fundraising -- psychology triggers). GoFundMe 5% + credit card fees, which is one of the best rates. I could be wrong, but I believe HUDL got rid of their fundraising option. Obviously, FanAngel is the best I don't want to bore you with details, just to say everything about it is specific to Sports Fundraising. Beg Letters, Lift-a-Thons, Online Auctions, Swag Rewards, Online Registration -- basically I took everything that I did as a booster dad/coach and made an online companion for it. Also, our fees are only 5% + credit card fees. Plus, we are happy to help take the load off your shoulders by helping you set the page, write the script, give you letter templates, edit videos... I want to respect the boards and not be too spammy, so I'll stop there. Happy to answer any follow up questions. Also, check out our blog for ideas and commentary on sports fundraising (pages.fanangel.com/blog).
