Have been able to coach at my alma mater with my HS head coach (just retired after 26 years) for 11 seasons. Worked my way from assistant position coach to assistant OC/run game coordinator. We have been a great program. Multiple state final appearances with multiple state titles. Have seen many of our athletes go on to the next level via different routes.
HAVE BEEN INVOLVED WITH TURNING TROUBLED YOUNG MENS LIVES AROUND WITH THIS BLESSING WE CALL FOOTBALL AND KEEPING MANY OTHER OUT OF TROUBLE.
With the coaching change this off season I left my alma mater and was hired at a local military prep academy as the OC. This new program will definitely test my coaching abilities and love of the sport.

I have a few questions for you all tho. If you could say there is one strength or one ability that greatly helps you or makes you a great coach what is it? LOVE. The love of the game. Without sounding like Sandusky...the love you have and show for/to your players. I coached at a school for a year where my love of coaching was tested. The lack of offensive production was blamed on me, never mind the fact that we trying to run power/counter vs 9 man box, because I was the OL coach and the second youngest on the offensive staff (25 years old). I had more years varsity coaching experience than the rest of the offensive staff combined with exception of the OC. I was told my style of coaching wasnt good because I didnt yell and berate the players. I was also the JV OC. We werent a team with a lot of talent because all the sophomores that could play were on Varsity. But what we did do was have fun at practice and tried to put our rag tag bunch in the best position to have some kind of success even though it wasnt showing in the W/L columns. I had varsity guys asking to come down to JV just because we just played and didnt care. The JV team just LOVED playing. Needless to say I left after that one season. Had to swallow my pride and ask my HC if i could have any job just to be back at my alma mater. We talked about why I was leaving my previous post and I explained to him about me losing my passion for the sport. I regained my love of coaching and looking to pass that along to maybe a few future coaches. I became interested in coaching because of my high school coaches. The passion they showed. The genuine interest they showed in our team and our well being as individuals. They showed that they cared more about showing us how to be upstanding young men then wins and losses. They cared about making sure we would succeed in life.

So many great stories from great coaches. I learned more from this site in 1 month than from the rest of my short life (24 years old).
I'm part of a coaching staff that has no HC, just Coordinators. All Coordinators share the HC duties (5 guys). We are revamping the team of our city right now, playing amateur football here in Brazil. My passion is defense, and besides being the DC, I also play Mike (yeah, we all play and coach). Besides being from Brazil i have been a football fan since i was 13 years old (don't ask me how or why, no relations to the USA). My team was one of the best in our state 4 years ago, but a lot of problems got in the way and we had to stop (also i got married). Now it's time to get back on track and take my team back where we belong. I got a cousin that played here with me and know is the DC from Santos Tsunami (Football team of the Famous Brazilian soccer team Santos, where Pelé played).
Also, coaches from Ohio and region who want to see Brazilian National Football Team, they are going to play in the IFAF World Cup, in Canton. I Know it's in July, don't know the exact date.

So here goes... In my 10th year of coaching in the great state of TX... in that time have been blessed to work with 2 hall of fame (thsca) HC's. I owe everything to those men. Been fortunate to coach some outstanding young men and some extremely talented ones as well. Have coached many division 1 kids, more small college kids and 2 NFL players. I've spent all 10 years as an OL coach, with 3 of those as an OC. I'm very proud of the things we were able to accomplish while I was the OC at 2 different schools, setting offensive records at each stop. Only one of those places equaled wins, but it is what it is. I love talking ball, so I'm always open to a good discussion so if anyone needs someone to bounce ideas off shoot me a message.
