Up here in SE Wisconsin, we have recently 1 HS get busted for alleged recuriting violations and some other things. In these parts this is big news. My question to you guys is how big is this thing across the country? Share your worst horror stories about corrupt football programs in high school.

Well, crying "foul" and accusing teams of recruiting is pretty much standard fair in Louisiana. It is really becoming like Major league baseball down here, with the haves routinely picking up the better players, and the have nots suffereing yearly. Especially true in the city areas, where private schools are more abundant. Just a little FYI, Louisiana has the largest percentage of privately educated students in the country, so that adds to the fire.

Here in Milwaukee we see alot of what you describe, inner-city athletes being "drawn" to the suburbs with big promises.

Coaches
I think what it comes down to is what we can control. What we can control is how we coach, the positive attitude we bring and producing a great experience for our athletes. Whether kids are recruited or not, we may not be able to control it. Even if recruiting is not the issue athletes and their parents may transfer to schools for reasons that are not academic. Make your program the best you can.

As enzpville said, I can't control but one program, and that's mine. And that's a full-time job. I don't have time to worry about who someone else has or what they're doing.
If I knew with absolute certainty and had proof that another school was in violation, I would report them through the proper channels.
But that would not be on a web board. True or not, these things paint all of us with the same brush to some extent, and there are enough civilians out there more than willing to do that to us, without self-inflicted wounds.
