just having a little difficulty finding the part where this was put up to a vote for the people this State-run service serves. I see where the school board voted on what is best for the school board, but what about the majority of families this affects? I couldn't find that part.

just having a little difficulty finding the part where this was put up to a vote for the people this State-run service serves. I see where the school board voted on what is best for the school board, but what about the majority of families this affects? I couldn't find that part. Additionally, the union probably can file a lawsuit because the work day is usually written into the contract the union has with the school board. Unless this is a contract year, the board really doesn't have the legal right to change a contractual item. I agree with you about the cavelier attutude towards the families in the school district. I understand that the board is trying to address a serious financial situation, but, at the same time, what the heck are parents who both work supposed to do with their kids on Monday? Seriously, if you had a junior high or high school aged kid, do you REALLY want them home alone during the day? Unsupervised teenagers can do A LOT of damage...

I believe the prices are affecting us. We just finished our first week of summer workouts. Traditionally we have about 75-80 kids there a day. This week we were between 50-60 kids/day. Of course, we had a few having to do some remediation, but not 20.
