Well, it looks like the circus has ended in ugly fashion. We play a team that had us mercy ruled in the first quarter this season at the end of the week. When I got in today, the season was apparently cancelled. Last week, the mom of the punter who the team wanted off came and complained to the school that her son was being bullied and picked on, and because of that, she wanted our game and season cancelled. In reality, it is a shame that she had to go and do something like that in a season where we really are trying to teach these kids a valuable lesson in a season filled with tragedy. Disappointed in her immature actions. What is that kid learning from his mother? The worst, though, is what happened after Apparently, they had all came into the locker room and were making noise, throwing things around-basically vandalizing their locker room. When the coach yelled into it "whats going on in there" and began walking in, they all sprinted out of the locker room, jumped in their cars and left. The remaining 5 or 6 kids would not tell hc what had happened (rather 'they didn't see'). Looks like just about the ugliest way to end the ugliest season I've ever been involved with.

This thread is disgusting. Where is the Fn' leadership? Where is the AD?

All of this had been the AD and administrations ideas all along. He was the one that appointed the interim-interim HC for this last week without asking anyone their opinion, but also claimed that he did. The guy they appointed for the last week was the same one that called a meeting to tell us all to "stop giving suggestions"

So thats how it ended. We lost our last game 59-12. I said I was proud of the seniors, said good luck to the underclassmen, and that was that. Very bittersweet, but even up to the very end, all I heard from these coaches were telling the kids how and why they suck-mostly because they are not hooting and hollering and excited to play for guys that they don't feel actually care about them.
The kid who was "too small" had a great game and a 90 yard TD in a game where they finally gave him somewhat of a shot. Halftime consisted of no changing strategy, game planning or coaching but them telling them how they knew the kids were going to get blown out because they were joking on the sideline. At the end of this I am just relieved, to be honest.
All year has just been no feeling of togetherness. Nothing but blame the whole way. I had to argue so many times this year that it wasn't our supposed lack of talent but how WE were coaching, how we ran practice, etc. We failed them, and I still heard someone say even nick saban couldn't have won with these kids. BS. We didn't put them in the positions. Even when the AD told us all that kids have been saying they've been hearing but negative all season-"nah, we weren't negative!". My level of frustration about this season has been through the roof, and I can't help but feel like I am just as much to blame for not doing more and instead worrying about not arguing in front of the kids to show we are united.
One positive-I have learned a lot about how to coach, and what I would do when I eventually become a HC. I have made some good relationships, and a couple of my kids made all-league. (Although one of my guys in my position group wasn't nominated because they had some weird theory about strategy and not nominating too many to try for I forget what reason.) This kid really should have made it, but again I just don't feel like I was listened to at all, along with other things. Not to sound bitchy.
