Anyone have examples of written Emergeny Action Plans (dealing with heat illnesses, catastrophic injuries, etc...)? Thanks in advance for any help!

We don't have a written plan but we take the following precautions: 1. Have a binder with all kids with their parents HOME, CELL, and WORK numbers. We also require a 2nd Emergency contact. 2. If injury occurs during practice coaches use their discretion on whether to call ambulance or parents first. 3. If injury occurs during game and parents are not present - coach calls parents, Athletic Trainer attends to athlete. If athlete needs to go to hospital a coach must go with the athlete.
**The key is to have a binder with emergency contact information and have coaches who are trained in CPR and First Aid.

We have the binder with physicals and consent forms. All of our coaches are required to be CPR/First Aid and AED certified. Our district just implemented a new policy that every sport have written emergency plans on file. I was just looking for a template. It will just add to my already busy schedule to create one from scratch!

We have all of that through Family ID where our parents complete all the contact info, medical info, concussion info, and releases. Great program for short money and i can print all the inof out and hand it to my coaches in a folder.

I dont know the exact detail to detail plan, but I was talking with the HC/AD about ours the other day. And he said its as detailed as, who is going to flag down the ambulance and who is responsible for getting the trainer. Things of that nature.
