As I sit here and am about to finish the last hour of the graveyard shift I'm covering for one of my employees, I'm thinking back to when I used to do this every night. I used to be a security guard from 10 pm to 6 am every night and coach from 3 pm to 6 pm every afternoon. It was awful, but I loved football.
What was your worst job while coaching?

I have never had a crappy job when coaching. I have had a commute that was just straight dangerous. I used to live in Alexandria, VA and coach in a town about 35 miles away. We didn't start practice until 4:30, which is the heart of rush hour there. I got off work a 3, and if I didn't drive at least 90 to 100 through traffic to get there by 3:30, I would get stapled in rush hour and miss practice. For a Midwestern guy this was a pretty harrowing experience, I never had to rush to get anywhere. Fortunately, driving 100 weaving through traffic is pretty commonplace on the DC beltway. I remember this guy who I would see every day on his crotch rocket who would blow by me on the shoulder going at least 120-130 everyday right by the Pentagon. His bike was so damn loud, and got up on you so fast, I always thought we were under attack by some terrorists missile.

Started off in the union laborers and taking lay offs during football season. Worst two where working graveyard welding air ducts for a aerospace contractor and working 430 to 1 pm at a foundry making casting molds and shaking out pours about 4 heats a day. Would come to practice at 2 covered in black from head to toe.
Current gig I have had for 3 years is perfect 8 pm to 4am in nightclub management sunday threw Thursday.
To be honest the worst was actually using my Para ed cert to work 3 periods a day and to asked to be on a sub list for peanuts. Low pay and administrative bs is something I have no desire to return to anytime soon.

Contracting. Getting insulation into your open, sweaty pores does really get me in an un-enthusiastic mood to EVEN coach football.

I was supposed to be doing pilot training in the RCAF but there were too many of us to train at once and then I blew up my knees so I spent four years doing nothing in an office. On the bright side it let me spend 8-12 hours a day on this site and coach three teams at once, and that set me up for my current job.
Nightclub management sounds like an especially scuzzy euphemism.
