The "Profits" thread made me curious about this. I was wondering what size school everybody was at, what kind of community, what their stadium is like, and what kind of crowds you get.
Our school has about 1600 students (9-12). There are four HS's in the city which has about 140,000 people. Each middle school feeds into several different HS's and MS's do not have football. The HS's share a city stadium which seats 8,000. Because of that each school plays some Thursday night and Saturday afternoon games.
The attendance at games varies wildly. Playoff games or games between contending city rivals may sell out or come very close. Saturday games, especially if they involve middle-of-the road or bad teams, may draw a "crowd" that you can physically count by hand.
We've been around .500. We probably average around 3000.

New school has about 1400. When we played them last year there were maybe 3-4000 in attendance. Not bad, but we want to do better.
We have 3 feeder schools, and 2 other high schools in town with their own feeder schools that draw solar attendance.
At my first school we had 2300 kids enrolled and regularly saw crowds of 8000+

We are about the same. I've seen standing room only(8-10k) and I've counted the opposing teams fans while waiting on the game to start.

We are a relatively small community/school district for Long Island. 1 lower elementary, 1 upper elementary, 1 middle (6-8) & 1 HS (9-12) with 950-1000 student in HS. Football began in 1974 but not a strong winning tradition except for a run from 1985-1989. Just about every other year was a losing record year. When I took over in 2001 we had about 150-200 in attendance. Last 10 years we've been a consistent playoff contender and we average 600 fans but have had games hit 1500-2000 for playoffs...including visitor fans. Unfortunately our home side bleachers hold no more than a 1000 & the visitor side has 2 small bleachers for 150-200 at most. All our home games are Saturday afternoons so that might have some impact. We are getting turf & lights for 2015 so things could (hopefully) change with Friday Night Lights! There are no admission fees for regular season games.

The school we just left is a small private school. We use to say the only people in the stands were cousins and c**ksuckers aka not real big crowds. School we are at now is same region but more of a community so maybe around 1000 a game.

School I was at had around 2400 kids in the HS. We averaged between 5500-7500 per Friday night home game.
School I'm at now is much smaller but we have tremendous community support. Not sure the exact numbers but from what I hear, if you want a burger and fries to eat on a Friday night this fall, your best bet is to look for the 100 yard field with the big lights around it...

We are a school of about 400ish. Our community is very small and the social economics are very "interesting" to say the least. We have a lumber mill that is the main source of employment other than that it's the local grocery stores or little tourist shops.......or one of the many many medical marijuana grows. The next town is about 40 miles away and many folks commute there for work.
That being said, there is not much of a football culture in the town. Example- we have had the best run of wins over the last 10 years in the history of the school, we have a beautiful field with a new all weather track, yet we have very low turnouts at our home games.
Don't get me wrong, some years are better than others and not all the people are bad people but it can definitely be a little disappointing at times. Lets just say with some of the parents we deal with, it is very clear that our kids need us more than we need them as football players.

School of about 1050-1100. Avg about 3000 per game unless we are playing another county team. Then draw 6-8000 depending on how good we are.

Very rough numbers, our opener was about 10,000, then 5,000, then 2,500 for a miserable homecoming game in the rain, then 4,000, then 6,000 in the playoffs, but it was really cold those last two.
