Looking for what other teams are doing for pregame warmups. Ours has gotten stale and I would like to change it up.

What do you mean stale? Warmups are a time to get yourself warm for the game physically. I don't know that it's a time that can get stale. I tend to think that routine is what you want out of it.

Coach we do a dynamic warm up. Do Indy special teams. If you aren't in anything you go with oline coach and walk thru scheme Do Indy defense Do team defense (10 plays, formation based, best 3 runs, best playaction, 2 trick plays and whatever else we were slopy on during the week) Then straight to team offense (12 plays-last 3 are opening script) Kick extra point
Hudle in locker room or on sideline depending on time.

I mean we still do some drawn out static stretches and things as a team. I think alot of it is a waste of time and I am looking to streamline it into something more efficient and effective. I think alot of teams do warm ups as more of a show. I just wanted ideas about what others are doing.

Skinny skills go out and play 7 v 7, while kickers and long snappers are warming up and getting kicks in. Then the rest of the team comes out, they take the field in some sort of hoo-rah type fashion, normally with a chant. The team static stretches, then everyone goes to their position coach for indies.
The defense then gets 3 reps of pursing to the sideline while the offense watches. The offense then goes through their base plays.
Then punt down, punt back, PAT, then into the locker room.
Come out of the locker room, for 4 live plays in the endzone, then to the sidelines.

We went out as positions.. Special teams(kickers, holders, snappers, returners), WR, DBS, LB, OL, DL. Do all skill specific stretches and drills, then come together for 6 plays, kick a PAT, Punt, team storms the return man when He catches ball. Break it down. Go into locker room for the "calm before the storm"

We go out 20 minutes or less before kick off-do a few things-and play. Best change I ever made @4 years ago.
Long slow pre-game is brutal to me and obviously our players. One time we were late and got to the sideline right before kick off. Played a fantastic game vs. a larger class team.

One thing we got to doing is not doing warm ups in the stadium at all. We got a practice field above we do dynamics some indy a few indy drills a few plays all are kicking send the captains down come down the hill. Do there little jump around thong the players do and line up for the national anthem and go. Takes some work but do basically the same thing for away games best we can.

The school with traditionally best program in our league (because they're biggest, have best facilities, location, developmental program) does this:
They come out half hour before Kickoff, kids carrying their shoulder pads-helmets. Everything else on.
PAT-FG Kicker, snapper, and holder kick to RBs catching behind goal post.
QBs-Receivers do Passing Circle.
Linemen do Agility, then 1-on-1 blocking.
That lasts about 10 minutes.
Next they do Form-Angle tackling.
Then they do some Dynamic Warm-up.
Then they run some Team Offense.
That's about it.
Now I have seen their JVs go out and walk through stuff (mostly defense) for some time before that on practice field, maybe their Varsity does that too.
Having said that, even though their school is half again as big as ours enrollment-wise - we're 6-3 against them total all levels.
Pre-Game Warm-up may not be the deciding factor, however.

Dynamic Stretch in the endzone. Get Loud Run out in stretching lines Do 8 jumping jacks spelling out our mascot name then saying it three times I-R-I-S-H, Irish, Irish, Irish. Jog in and do a breakdown Go to defensive INDY for 5-8min Go to offensive INDY for 5-8min Team D v Air- Coach call a formation does a drop, roll, or primary run play type of action. Defenders react. Team O v Air- Just rep base plays. Team Tackling- 2 guys on their backs everyone else circled around, throw the ball to one and they get up and tackle. Inside Locker room for HC speech until 5 min until game starts.

pre game warm up is the most annoying thing to me the little indy and team stuff not an actual dynamic warm up that part is necessary
i hate it, i think it has zero effect on the game
I would rather line up, have everyone do 2 live reps of oklahoma , national anthem and kick off
we are all creatures of habit, so i think we do it, because we've always done it... and everyone else is doing it

When I played, OL would be in the locker room with pants on just getting focused. Put on shoulder pads, helmets, and cleats about 25 minutes before kickoff. Stretch for about 10 minutes. Do offensive plays on air for about 7 minutes. Water up and play ball. I loved it.

I don't know what the skinny guys did, maybe take selfies where they pull up each other's shirts and show their abs?

Coachbdud, That is very close to what we do except it does have an effect on the game-we play better.

Coaches get bored, players don't. They like knowing what to expect (routine).
They only do our Pre-Game couple years. I've been doing it for 29. That's the problem. Coaches also get "annoyed" by Pre-Game because we can't wait for Kick off. Doesn't matter what you do for hour before ball is teed up, you're going to be antsy.
Neither are valid reasons to do away with or shorten it.
Decide what you need to do for kids to work up a little sweat (without getting them gassed), break their pads in, get used to environment-field conditions, and call it good.
