Looking for some ideas........
Okay, need some ideas on building MATURITY / Delayed -Gratification in a young new team.
Completely hypothetical here, people
What are some things to improve morale while teaching valuable lessons on how to persevere for the greater overall good of OTHERS (altruistic) instead of immediate self-gratification?
Teaching HONOR and SACRIFICE are the underlying issues, but we are looking at an advancing these lessons at an accelerated pace.......hypothetically
I realize this is something like asking, "Someone teach me Patience.....in thirty minutes!"
Without taking a year or two of off-season weights to change the thought-process of a student body, can you pressure (force) maturity onto not just a handful of kids, but an entire platoon / company of players of varying levels (frosh - sr) ?
As it stands now, EMOTION is the only thing regulating the level of play / effort.
