Have heard that his pread is different from other spread offenses. For those who have had the opportunity to see his O or perhaps visit with his staff what makes it different or somewhat unique? Thanks in advance for an info.

He runs something like 50-80 formations. His offense has a bunch of bone concepts.

He goes from no back to fullhouse at any time. I believe he ran split back veer vs. Miami a few years ago.

Some would call this a "grab bag" offense...I think it's brilliant.

Found out more on Briles by talking to a guy that played for him. Every play he calls has Veer principles. Example, if a receiver is given a 8 yard or more cushion, then the qb raises up and hits him. Even if its a run play this is a constant rule. Like it was said before, he uses a ton of Split Back Veer and Wishbone concepts. With Griffin at Baylor for 3 more years, expect a lot of Split Back Veer from under center and gun. Best play this year is a play out of this formation.
X----------0--0--B--0--0----------------Z------ ----------------------------------SL-------------- -------------------Q----------------------------- --------------H--------F---------------------------
Line blocks IV to the right. F runs veer path, Q reads DE like IV. SL runs bubble. Instead of a pitch the bubble is the option read. H Swings away. Hope this makes sense.

have heard many different things. but in his passing game the wr's and backs have an area to occupy. not the same route just get to a specific area.
run game is based on veer like stated above. does anyone know how much he shares? or if he lets high school guys in during spring ball?

It seems like getting information on Briles' stuff is tough. I always hear very interesting ideas. Does anyone know where one might be able to get film of his HS days, Houston or I guess even Baylor?

Coach Briles is very secretive and does not give his stuff out. He is very good coach/teacher and an even better person. As far as QB fundamentals/WR basics he knows his stuff and will share. Anything else he will not. He does not have a playbook, all his stuff is on film. I know a GA there and he says that the only thing Coach Briles has on paper is the stuff that the players copy from the board. They put in their stuff in Spring and Fall camp, once its in nothing changes for that season. They just rep it every week, but run it out of different formations. With Kevin Kolb (UH QB) they were more Run and Shoot/Air Raid with a ton of screens. Run game was zone/power/trap. With Griffin at Baylor they are Veer/Zone Read and some trap. Passing game this year they run a lot West Coast / Air Raid with a lot of screens. HE DOES NOT GIVE OUT HIS MATERIAL. He says that everything they do is what they came up with when he was at Stephenville. Alot of Veer/Bone concepts used with a passing game. I am in the process of talking with a coach about some film from his Stephenville days. When I get it I'll see what I can do to shed some light. I can tell you he is not doing anything that has not been done already, it is still just Football.
Here is some video for your viewing pleasure.

Baylor is MUCH improved with him and that stud QB (Griffin) they have in place. The kids can really run and is improving as a passer. Saw them play in Lincoln this year, not the Baylor of old.

Just thought of this from watching the youtube clips. If you want film on Baylor try to get defensive cutups from the other schools they play. I would think some of those schools would be willing to share cutups.
