Has anyone ever put the blocking assignment on the wristbands for the OL instead of the play?
When we go no huddle, everyone on the field has a wristband & we signal the play that we want from the sideline by numbers. I was wondering how it would work if we signaled in a number for a play & instead of the OL looking at the name of the play they would be looking at their blocking assignment.
Anyone?

I have a DVD of a SW Conclave. One of the presenters talks about how everyone on the offense has a wristcoach. And, all of their assignments are written on the wrist coach.

No huddle?? Heck coach we have put every play on there. The QB calls the play in the huddle. He looks down and sees who he blocks. Had a few special needs kids playing there.

Would you give a little detail of what you put on the OL wristband. I'm thinking that this would be a good idea, but I woold like to hear more specific details.

Before 2 a days begin we give the OL guys wristbands with just their position rules on them. We love it. It something they can refer to during group and team.

One of our lineman last year wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, so we gave him a wrist coach. it had all of the run names and then his assignment on it. They also corresponded with the numbers for the no huddle system. For pass plays, the guard next to him was responsible for this assignment (slide or calling out the number of his man).

Our OL wristbands are truncated versions of what the backs and receivers get. That is, for runs, the OL bands have only play and direction (no formations/motions). For passes, it has only the protection.

I guess everybody has the same amount of time - but doesn't it take a LOT of time to make individual wristbands for everybody? Explain how you (or who) does it.
