I'm revisiting this slide from his presentation and am puzzled by the bullet point in parenthesis - ALCOHOL
- DRUGS
- TOBACCO
- ON/OFF CAMPUS INCIDENTS (FIGHTS)
- MISTREATMENT/DISRESPECT OF FEMALES
- ACTING INAPPROPRIATELY ON/OFF CAMPUS
- (TEACHERS, ADMINISTRATORS, POLICE, CAMPUS SECURITY)
- CHIPPING / NEGATIVE FEEDBACK
- SELFISHNESS
respect them? or is there more?

I am a big fan of Speckman's but I've never seen that presentation. I guess it could go a few different ways. Of course your players need to treat them with respect. Even if they don't like or agree with them. I make sure my players understand that is not a fight they will win. The other side is some people in those positions have a hard on for athletes and make life hard for them. If any people in those positions aren't supportive of your program there can be some big issues.

Speckman is one of the best coaches I've ever been around. Even though I'm not a Fly offense guy, I sit on every clinic I can when he talks because he is full of information that makes me a better coach. You may want to drop him an e-mail to ask for clarification.

Not completely sure. He's speaking at clinics right now and I've heard he may still have his job in the CFL but also could be headed back to coach in CA.

Played for Speck, if I had to guess I'd say that he means something like they are the people who bust you when you step out of line, so have them on your side.
Just a guess, I just know that I made d@mn sure I never got told I was being a team buster.
