Yes but do we know that's their reason for buying them? I'm sure it is for some, but for all we know they had a huge following of students at every game and they all felt a part of the winning season.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using proboards The ONLY reason for ANYONE to buy / get ANY ring is so that other's can "see" that you accomplished something. Players included. At the HS level, the rings are nice, but I haven't really seen anyone wear them past HS other than coaches. Regardless, you basically restated what I said. "they all felt a part of the winning season" = wanting to be acknowledged for someone else's acomplishment which almost equals wanting people to think they accomplished something.

I'm not surprised. Live life vicariously through others...that's the new American way. I mean you can buy an authentic NFL or College jersey just like they wear on the field right? It was just a matter of time. I wouldn't buy one or wear one that I did not earn but then again I don't have a NCAA or NFL jersey either. So true. I am not really a "fan" of anyone... and don't really understand the whole "we" when talking about NFL or NCAA teams. I disagree on this, if you are a FANatic of a team then it is "we", but I guess. The ring thing horrible idea.

I know that I'm not a part of the Green Bay Packers. When i'm talking to another fan, though, saying "The Packers" gets cumbersome. It's easier to say "We"and "You". I have no illusions that what I say or do has any real effect on the team. If it did, the Packers would play better defense (Sorry. Couldn't resist.)

I don't understand that type of fanaticism over the accomplishments of OTHER peoples accomplishments. People whose only connection to me might be the school the attend, or even worse, a geographic one.

Everything is bigger in Texas. That include architectural deficiencies?
