I just spoke with the resource teacher in my building and she told me that, in regard to the SAT, they discourage students from taking the first SAT test in March. The date this year is March 8th. She said that the first test is the pilot test for the testing season and it historically has the lowest pass rate.
In other words, there are possible questions that are too difficult and SAT will either omit or modify those questions until they are acceptable.
I wasn't aware of that, and I thought it would be something worth sharing. If you have a student-athlete that can afford to wait until the next date, consider it.

Very interesting. I hope that there are other coaches on the board that will share more information on this topic.

I thought the same thing. It caught my attention. After looking further into it online, there are arguments against such a theory, but it is largely opinion based. I couldn't find anything to disprove or confirm it. The person I talked to is a professional, so whether it's true or not, it was enough for me.
