Agree with fantom. I don't know how to quantify toughness, but I know it when I see it.
Tell our kids to be a good Football player-Team, we have to take pride in doing difficult things well.
To be tough, you have to practice it. Coming to Strength Training after school in February to get ready for Two-a-Days when their buddies are going home to pig out and play XBox is tough.
Running on the track at 9 am in the Summer to get ready for Two-a-days while their buddies are sleeping in-watching TV in the AC is tough.
Practicing full-speed twice a day for weeks before school starts to get ready for games is tough.
