Hi guys we are moving into a classification where we get an unlimited number of 2 way players. In the past we have only been able to use 3 per game often we just never used anyone because we didn't need to VS the competition we were playing. This year we will need to rely on some more 2 way guys and I am looking for input.
In the past we split days up ie: 1/2 of the practice they went with the D and the other 1/2 with the O. This just never seemed to work out well. From a learning theory point of view it worked fine but from a practical point of view it did not.
With a 4 day week how have you guys practiced your 2 way players?

@falcon42
I never knew anyone was limited in the number of two way players they could use! Crazy...
Here's what we did this year in a typical 4-day week. We do what I call a hybrid platoon. The majority of our players are only on one side of the ball. Of a 55-man roster last fall, we had just over 10 2-way guys.
Monday (Defensive emphasis: 2-way players only do defense and 1-way players do their side of the ball) Tuesday (Offensive emphasis: 2-way players only do offense and 1-way players do their side of the ball) Wednesday (Split emphasis): We split individual time with the 2-way players and they take part in group and team sessions on both sides of the ball. Thursday (Review, Situational Day) 2-way players take part in group and team sessions on both sides of the ball
