If Matt Millen wasn't on it, it would be perfect

I love hearing the coaches putting the analysts in their place. Coolest way I have ever watched a game!

Remove Matt Millen and show the play full screen when on live action and it would have been awesome. Really impressed with Sumlin and how fast he took over the room. WOW

I forgot about this. Any chance they are going to replay it? I would for sure turn the sound off if Millen was n it though

I watched it for about 10 mins. I thought it was terrible. I was excited to check this out after reading about the interactions last night, I felt like I was missing out. I don't do cable so I only had ESPN3 feed.
I watched the film room and was utterly disappointed (available on ESPN.com). Sumlin, Chryst and Addazzio were all it needed. If I needed two mopes in Speilman and Millen to quip inane clichés and vague generalities as definitive statements, I could've gone down to a sports bar.
Both of those guys I have tremendous respect for as players but that's it. Neither are able to articulate anything of value other than what is like as a player.
It was a step in the right direction

I think more full screen during the play would have made it much better. I don't need to see the guys talking, I know who they are...I know I don't care much for what one of them has to say.
Also, loved how the other coaches joked with Sumlin after he said he liked the saying another one had about check downs to that it must be frustrating that his guy always seems to find the check down that is 20 to 30 yards downfield.

I agree, could've done without those two. I mean, hell, they were asking questions or spouting stupid comments a majority of the time anyways. Sumlin, though, took it to another level. You could tell he was a cut above. Didn't care for Adazzio, but I have other reasons for that...lol... Duece

Just came off as a bunch of people trying to talk over each other. Noisy, no rhyme or reason why they did certain things, totally disorganized. I thought it was horrible.
How often do you need someone to talk about what a great play something was?

Personally, I don't really give a crap what Kevin Sumlin thinks about the National Championship game. The idea maybe has some merit, but I don't think I'll give it another shot. Now, if they would just put a station up with a live feed of the game and no commentary, I'd be all for that. Did anyone check out the social media one with Manziel and Tebow? I watched about 30 seconds of it and couldn't watch it any longer.l Want to talk about chaotic and very little about the game. That was it.

I really liked it buy my Dish Network package only carries ESPN news in SD. The split screen made things very hard to see and I could never quite tell where the ball was. I like the MST3K idea that some other people came up with. I don't need to see the coaches, just hear them.

THEY DID.....ESPN3 (online) aired the entire game from the wire with nothing but what could be heard from the camera. It was marvelous, see the entire game and matchups without the fluff. During the first timeout by Auburn the camera is over Malzahn and you're hearing him call the next play (subsequent huddles were purposely panned away).

I knew there was somewhere they were doing this. That's the only reason I stumbled onto the social media crap.

I tell my wife all the time, that I would pay an obscene amount of money to listen to the communication/play calls over the headsets of major college games. I know that it wouldn't make sense to let listeners do so, and I probably wouldn't understand most of the calls anyway, but to listen to what they see, and to be that close to the game would be amazing.

I wish there was a pay for channel kinda like nfl red zone that kept the mics on at field level. I would love to watch game with all the players talking smack, coaches swearing at refs, and everything else that happena at field level.

Ya'll are getting on Millen, and he said some stupid stuff, but he wasn't talking that much. Spielman was the truly annoying one. He ran his mouth the entire time. If you remove him from the fold, the show would've been a lot less convoluted.

I thought Tebow was very solid as an analyst on the pregame show, but didn't see any of the social media stuff.

I'm telling you coach, even if they mic'd a player or two (one offense, one defense). Or hearing the QB calls in the huddle. I'm sure the NFL/College coaches wouldn't want that, for obvious reasons, but the concept is great. But don't they do it from time to time on Hard Knocks? Anyway, I'm getting way to excited for something that will probably never happen. Story of my life. lol.

I thought it worked really well in real time, not sure if I could watch a replay of it. AFAIK this is the first time they've done something like this so I'm sure it will be refined. Guess it comes down to personal preference if it's something you want to watch or not.

Surprised at the divergent opinions. I thought it was good, especially considering I've never seen another network try this before and even the participants didn't know what to expect.
I agree that there were too many cooks in the kitchen. I actually thought Luginbill did a decent job being a host -- you didn't really notice him much and I thought that was a good thing. To me Sumlin and Addazio made it worth watching. I am surprised people ragged on Spielman as much as they did as I thought he was pretty good, and they needed a defensive guy (Charlie Strong was going to be on it until he took the Texas job, and they replaced him with Chryst). I think Spielman would have been more tolerable had Millen not also been on. Millen got better in the second half but the entire first half he talked constantly, even cutting off the other coaches when they were speaking.
My guess is they included Spielman and Millen because some producer got scared that the coaches would use jargon that needed to be translated to viewers, but at least Sumlin and Addazio never had that issue. Addazio in particular was fun when he got fired up over OLine play.
It certainly was an improvement over the regular way to watch a game, at least as a changeup. For as much as people rag on ESPN, they did actually try a novel concept -- in a rather big game -- of having a bunch of football people talking about actual football.
I did think to myself that if they wanted to really capture the vibe of coaches watching a game, they needed a lot more beer, hot wings and skoal.
