I am evaluating our pre-game from the time we walk on the field to kickoff. What I do is what I got from a good program I coached in. The following is what we currently do for a 7:00 kickoff. 6:10 snappers, KOR, PR, punters, kickers, QBs/RB are on the field. We do all our snapping and kicking first along with our return guys getting catches. Our other skill guys who are not involved are basically playing catch.
After the specialists are done we break into two lines of receivers with the QBs throwing routes to each line taking snaps from the centers.
Then the OL/DL comes out and we do our pregame form run together.
From there we do indy work in the following groups: O-Line D-Line Linebackers D-Backs
Our 1-way receivers and backs will runs routes with a coach.
After that we run team offense on air (D starters who are not involved with offense stand on the sideline and watch the other team run plays) until about 3-4 min before the pregame festivities (line-ups/National Anthem) and then we kickoff.
Some of the things I would like to hear about are: -Thoughts first off on what we currently do. -What you would add in or take out. -I know a lot of team we play run scout offense vs the D. -I know a lot of teams run offense vs a scout D instead of on-air. -I saw a team in playoffs this year that did kickoff and punt in pregame as a team kicking from the +40 toward the end zone.
So fire away. I need to evaluate what we do.

Ours is very similar, and I don't know what you do in your Indy periods, but we like to get a little hitting in. We do a tackling drill. It is live but we don't go to the ground (usually). I feel like it gets us ready for the physicality of the game. The other thing we do, and it only takes 3 minutes is a defensive team pursuit.

This is something I am wanting to reevaluate as well.
I notice you don't have a team stretch period. As a player I always hated stretching in pregame. I never thought as a player that team stretch got me ready to play a game. Do any other coaches not use organized team stretching before games?

We dialed our pre-game routine back a ton this season due to lack of a warm-up space at the city stadium we play at.
In year's past, we used to start warming up at the end of the 3rd quarter of the JV game.
This season, we started our pre-game routine once the JV game ended. During halftime of the JV game, we would do specialists (kickers, punters, returners, holders, snappers) and cycle them through. We let the players not wear helmets or shoulder pads during this time. Right after our specialists period, we did a defensive walkthrough
Once the JV game ended, we ran onto the field, did our rah rah stuff and then broke out for our dynamic warm-up. Following our dynamic warm-up, we would go to individual offensive position groups, team offense, individual defensive positions and then we would read our Game Day maxims. By then, it's time for the coin toss and we would break to the sideline.
Our kids seemed to like it a lot better this season.

We end our pregame stuff 10 minutes before kickoff and go back to the locker room for a few minutes. A couple minutes after we send the captains out for coin toss, the rest of the team walks out to the end of the field and the captains come meet them and they do their rah-rah breakdown thing and run to the sideline.

One thing I like is a "walk the field" period.
Before everyone gets taped and padded up just allow them 10 minutes to walk the field, or play a little catch, or whatever. Helps get minds right, silly teenage energy out, etc.

The purpose of Pre-Game is to break a little sweat, get pads loose, and get used to field-conditions.
Also offense should run some plays for timing, and PK-P should get at least one Team rep each before game.
So whatever you do that accomplishes those things is fine.
We do a 15-minute Specialty period (10 minutes kicking-punting-returning, 5 minutes pass routes on air). Only linemen out are long snappers.
When we come back out as a Team, we do about a 5-minute Warm Up, approximately 5 minutes each Individual Defense and Offense, then we run plays - 'Thud' vs. a defense if we have numbers, otherwise vs. air. 1s and 2s get 10 each.
We don't try to run Scout Offense vs. our Defense. We can barely do it adequately during the week, don't need to embarrass ourselves attempting it in public. If our defense doesn't have it down by 6:30 Friday, it's too late anyway.
We then Punt, kick a FG, and go in for final "words of wisdom." Come back out about five minutes before kick off for Anthem because state requires us to.
