What are the best media viewers for those of you that do film via internet/computer. We are just starting to do film electronically this season and are in a trial stage right now. I have watched some of our game film on Windows media player and Realplayer and both have the same problem . . . the only way to rewind on these players is to use a progress bar at the bottom, but you can't see where you are rewinding to (like on a VHS tape) so you often over shoot beyond the play you want to view.
Are there any other media players out there that have a rewind function where you can see where you are rewinding to for multiple viewings of the same play?

The only other major player really is QuickTime. But I would stay away from this player since they bundle it with iTunes. (There are other less-known players).
If I understand what you are trying to do, I don't think there is an easy solution. The real solution to your problem lies in the encoding of the video - that is what file type you start with, and how you encode the file for viewing. There are MANY encoders and there are many types of encoding. This is a very complex issue and I cannot give you a quick answer.
Why don't you let me know the specs of the source file (resolution, file type, compression, etc) and how you are currently encoding the files (i.e. using Windows Media Encoder to produce a *.wmv file that is a 10Kbit/sec VBR file).

Thanks for the response, but what you advise is above my level of technical understanding. We have a private company that does all of our video services, I'll give them a call and see what they reccomend.
