We have been a 2 platoon team all season, but now do to some injuries, we have a couple of running backs and a couple of linemen that have to play both ways. We are trying to cooridinate an efficient practice schedule where all the players stay busy and these 2 way guys get there needed work on both sides. We are a larger HS program with 82 kids on the team. While going 2 platoon we simply broke the field in half and practiced. we would come togheter for team and specials. However, now we need to coordinate D-Indy and O-indy, so these guys get their time in both. This may seem simple to most of you, but its a big adjustment for us. The headache is so few guys go 2 ways. If everyone played both ways it would be easier. If anyone would share a practice script with me it would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If your major work days are Tuesday and Wednesday, have your guys split time. For instance, on Tuesday your OL/DL guy goes to defense, then on Wednesday he goes to offense. During team time they can do both. Doing this could keep you from having to alter your schedule and still get guys work on both sides of the ball.

run 2 indy periods, your young kids play both ways or do they become O or D as freshman?

I have read "manual" from Coach Mike Lalor (Stillman Valley HS, IL). that is good stuff for me. Coach Lalor has web site.
