Anyone on here coach for or will coach against any of these HS teams being showcased on the espn stations? And for those watching these games, are you thinking the samething I'm thinking..."these teams would destroy us about 100-0." And we are a good program but would have absolutely no shot against these teams.

That team that beat Trinty from Tenn... I do not know how we would even attempt to stop their running backs and power running attack!

Don't coach at but I'm right down the street from Bingham High, who played Bonneville of Idaho on ESPN last night. Also near Jordan who was on TV last year. Utah ball is underrated and overlooked. Very good teams here.

I know Jordan went down to Valdosta and beat them. I know Valdosta was really down that year but anytime you travel to GA and play at Valdosta a win is a pretty good accomplishment.

We would be annihilated. Don't have the size, they physicality, mentality, skill, or the speed to even play their JV team. I would definitely welcome the opportunity but it wouldn't be pretty for us. Our entire first string would get injured the first play, or say they were injured.

We have four teams in our district that have played in ESPN games in the last couple of years. Odessa Permian, Midland Lee, Abilene, and Abilene Cooper are all powerhouse schools in our district.

Having participated in a couple of these, the common threads for these teams are:
- Teams with established programs These are the teams that have the little league teams running the same type plays as the HS. These teams have PE classes set up to work on football year around. These are the teams that we all geek over the facilities they have. These teams are consistent because of WHAT they do on a daily basis.
-Teams with studs These are the teams that ALWAYS have a stable of DI recruits. Also, keep in mind that these games are an arm of the ESPN recruiting. These games serve as a way to show live 'highlight' video of the kids this service promotes. I didn't watch much of the action, but those of you that did; How many times were these things mentioned? number of offers graphics of commitments cut-a-ways to Luginbill so he could comment on a player

If we pull our heads out and get to playoffs for first time in 10 years, we will travel to Bingham... which will get REAL UGLY, REAL QUICK. Good to see my boy Justin Garza coaching Central (Fresno, CA). Feel bad for his kid who messed up his leg and had a 1 hr. delay. McCaffery kid is legit!!! Bingham plays them here in a week or 2.

Despite seeming quite nerdy, I'd like to know how I can watch some HS games overseas. Does ESPN do that every week or is that just an interlude to the time when real football starts? Do they show them via the ESPN player, too? It doesn't even have to be nationally televised games, maybe there are streams from smaller channels?
How I'd love to see some high school ball.

I know this would never happen, but I'd love to see ESPN, or anyone else, cover a small town rivalry game where the whole place shuts down on game day. One of those small place in Kansas or TX or another state with two tiny teams playing. I think it be great to show the towns and the hatred that can be created between rivalries in small town USA.

I know Garza from living and coaching in Fresno. Real great guy and a good coach. Insanely athletic team. People are saying theyre only 4th best or so in our section.
That was a tough situation for em tho. They left at 2 am friday morn. And they couldnt even get a scrimmage against another team. It showed early.

ESPN basically coordinates a lot of these "matchups," and a major driver of who they pick is what D1 athletes are on the teams, which means either they have previously identified studs or the team always has a stable of them. It's not exactly a coincidence that the team that did ESPN's "Hell Week" played in one of these games and has one of the country's top WR recruits.
