Coaches, I may not have the opportunity to coach this fall due to my job situation What are some things I could do to keep my coaching skills sharp. I may volunteer to scout/break down game film for a local team. What are some other things I could do, so that I don't get behind when I start coaching again?

Read as many coaching books, talk to as many coaches as you can, and visit as many programs as you can.

Watch as much as you can and just talk to your former coaches. Reading books is always a great idea.
Honestly, your coaching skills will always be sharp, its the knowledge you must update/refresh.

VISIT another program - spend time with other staffs........pick up HOW they do things (not so much WHAT they do)

Stay hooked in on this website for one
Visit some other teams (HS and college).....
Keep drawing stuff up in the notebook, keep making your friends get in a three-point stance so you can try out technique, etc..
