Huey I do apologize in advance if this if this is not the place to post this.
I have been on this board since the near beginning. And I have noticed the talk about getting your players into college and playing at the college level.
Well I coach at the college level and we are always looking for players that are willing to work hard both in the classroom and on the field.
My school is Salve Regina University in Newport, RI. We are a liberal arts school with the lead major being ADJ (Criminal Justice) for men. Speaking of that. The female to male ratio here is high. it is 70% female here.
We are looking at players with a min of 2.75 and 950 on the boards.
If you have any players that would be interested or that you believe would like to look into it.
Shoot me a PM or email me at Christopher.LaRose@salve.edu

What are your costs and what kind of financial aid packages can you put together? I know you are a D-III school but there schools who offer "talent" grants and "leadership" grants with quite a range.

Our cost right now stands at 36,000 that includes a laptop and room and board.
Financial aid wise. We were very fortunate with what some of our incoming freshmen will be getting. We do not offer anything to athletes that the general student pop can not get.

How does that compare with others in your neck of the woods? We have two kids up at Norwich right now. Both were outstanding students (one got a PERFECT score on the SAT Math!) - he basically got everything paid for with no loans. The other one was not that brilliant but still had a 1200 and was admitted into the architechture program - he ended up with about $3,000 out of pocket and $3,000 in loans (out of a $33,000 tab.)

Truthfully. We can not compare to Norwich. They offer a ton of money to get kids up there.
Compared to other private schools up here, we are very close to what they offer. But to the state schools we are not very wall when it coms to comparison.

The reality is, kids are going to have to borrow a lot of money to go to college. The cost of tuition has risen at 12 times the rate of financial aid in the last 15 years. If you can go to a private school and be responsible for less than $15,000 a year (between loans and what you might pay out of pocket) you have done very well.

We have 2 kids that have received great package's. The rest are struggling to get by. Either with loans out of the A$$ or working from the end of football season to the beginning.
