I was just wondering what JHS do in their weekly practice schedule. We have 4 coaches and two separate teams (7th& 8th). I am a varsity coach and I am attempting to give my junior high coaches some guidelines. What has worked for you?

monday- offense- game review and stickers tuesday - defense/ tackling/ bird dog o wed- offense/defense/specials- sub preparations thurs- game day- attend varsity dinner friday- if varsity home game we play touch football and work on our passing game (no pads), if away game, no practice. we try to get the kids to come to the game and we have to work the booth/scout
i try to go from 2:45 til 5:30...eventually it gets dark by 5 so we end at 5 then. I usually have one assistant so i coach the oline, he gets the backs...we really dont have a qb and rec guy so we share that duty. defensively i coach des/lbers and he coaches the dbacks. I also work with the dline when i dont have a volunteer available to work there.

Similar weekly schedule but we go from 3:00 - 5:00. Try and keep everything uptempo and focused. For Fridays, if I was able to get a "quality" parent to tape their games, our JHS coaches will have a video review after a quick stretch and pass catch (30 minutes).
