I try to make promo videos as often as possible. I haven't made one for a uniform unveil yet, but we've ordered the new Adidas Techfit unis for the fall. If I have a way of getting some good footage, I will definitely make one.

I wanted to do just an image like this when we got our new UnderArmor jerseys two years ago, but we didn't get them in until week 6. It was a big mess, so it never came to fruition.

I like the pics, those are nice. i don't think they have done it before. but I am here to bring a new face to the off and wanted to bring a little swag to the team as well. we got the nike pro combat uniforms with new pants and the nike vapor talon cleats all black. so we are trying to use it at a recruiting tool also. oh and matte helmets too. so the video will reveal all this and we are posting it on our site. and youtube. Ive done video production and photography half my life so shouldn't be too hard. here is the link to WV video we will do something similar... ill post once we get it done.

Sounds like you might be a lot better at it than I. I just play around with Windows Movie Maker and hope to come up with a decent product. Here is an example of one that I've done.

We have actually made this a priority in our program as a way to attract players, and excite the alums, etc. The video on the bottom of our website ( www.auroracentralcatholicfootball.com) was a "promo" video my videographer did for the 2012 playoffs last year. He also did two in the summer for the season, and one just before the homecoming game. My videographer also does a "highlight" video after every win during the season, and obviously a team highlight film. Not sure what everyone else is working with video wise, but I say that we have the best video production staff in the country for any high school program.

Forget the highlights, I just wish we had your video camera haha. But I would say you have a strong case for production quality at the high school level. Very cool stuff.

bm good stuff. I teach the TV/Media classes at our places and I'm looking to get those kind of shots again this season. On the field...in the huddle...walking out, etc. Love that stuff. Get the camera specs for me. It also looks like your guy uses a stabilizer. Good stuff.

You guys have a lot of time on your hands. Why do you say that? Cause we are talking about marketing our programs? Seems like a great deal of effort to put into something that IMO is a pretty trivial thing. I would think if you have to "market" your program that hard to kids to get them to play the sport, you're not going to get a lot out of them if they come out. Time wise, I would have no idea how I would begin to fit some of the stuff some of you guys talk about doing into my day. But what do I know?

It's a friend if mine. He and I will be editing it. We all have spare time(some less than others) so that's when I will edit it. The kids like it as well and after seeing big hits or big catches on high lights it may motivate some to work harder. Every kid is different. If it helps to market your team, kids enjoy doing it and watching and it doesn't get in the way of actual football then why not? Also parents like it as well.

He actually runs his own media production company, and has shot my sisters wedding, as well as two of our assistant coaches. Does unbelievable work. If you YouTube search "Aurora Central Catholic Football" you can see a bunch of things he has done for us. You can also find all of his "other" work as well.

I respect your opinion, however, I would say there is "zero" effort put in on my part. Our video guy shoots everything, edits everything, and assembles everything. When he posts it online, that is the first I have ever seen it. Can't say we use it as much to "market" the program, as we do to build excitement amongst family, friends, alumni, players, etc. Our kids are jacked up each week when they see the weekly highlights. If it excites are kids, and motivates them, its the right thing to do in my book!

Offices are based in Ohio, and he runs the websites of about 20 high school football programs. Cost is reasonable, $1100(ish) for the first year to design, domain name, host, etc. $500(ish) for every additional year. I have total control over everything including the sponsorship, etc. It has really worked out well!
