If it goes to the best player, it has to go to Darren McFadden. If you and I are going to line up and pick teams, he's the first pick. Tebow has 20 rushing TD's yes, but the longest is 14 yards. His offense is set up to feed him the rock at the goalline. He's good I must say, but McFadden is a great player on a team with no QB and a head coach who goes dumba** every once and a while.
Since it's a popularity contest, I'm going with this finish:
1. McFadden (best football player--if his team was in the spotlight a little more, it'd be no contest.) 2. Tebow a close 2nd (he's the media's dream boy--IMHO he's not as good as the number make him look) 3. Pat White (numbers yesterday and next week will make him a lock for an invite) 4. Chase Daniel (I'm going to assume Oklahoma will put up more of a fight than overrated Kansas did, and his numbers will take a hit) 5. Colt Brennan in 5th, but no trip to NY (everyone thinks he's a "system" QB and no one seems to be giving Hawaii much respect--he might get an invite, but I doubt it.)

Coach Nichols, I think this is a very good list and is very accurate to how it is going to play out. I personally like Brennan because I think he is the key reason (and June Jones is the other reason) for his team's success.
I might add that if Mizzou wins the Big Twelve next week and has a good game Daniels may move to the number one or two spot. I think the Kansas game really did him a lot of good. The media is too monsterous to overcome,
Mcfadden is possibly the best football player, but you are right, he won't be in the front running for long.
This would be my list if I were the one picking it: 1. Brennan 2. Mcfadden 3. Daniels 4. Pat White 5. Michael Crabtree

More so, Kansas strength of schedule before the Missouri game was 117 of 119. Only Hawaii and Boise State were worse! I could have thrown for a milliion yards against Hawaii's competition... and if not me, obviously the backup could... Timmy Chang could... the kid that was switching with Chang could... I'm not mad at the system, I'm mad at the competition. Who's got the toughest schedule in the NCAA?

If Brennan is a '"system" QB, and that is why he is not a nominee, then you must eliminate Tebow as well, because Urban Mire runs a system as well. If you say that it is because the WAC is weak, well ok I will buy that, but many other players have played some weak teams, but what none of them have done is win every game and throw for 126 career TD's and I am not sure many of the TD passes were tunnel screens. Where would HI be without Brenan, same place as Oregon is without Dickson. Bottom line, Hawai'i is off the money map. Since they are not a BIG NAME in college football that will boost TV ratings, they will not get the necessary recognition. Well, I think that depends on what the "system" (since all teams run systems) asks the players to do, and what you are evaluating the players on doing. I belive when knowledgeable analysts talk about a system qb, they are referring to stats, and how they are derived. They aren't talking about player ability, or being a playmaker. I haven't seen much of Brennan at all, but I am somewhat familiar with June Jones system (coached with a JJ disciple), and I have to ask how many of those yards are bubbles, tunnels, etc.

maybe im overskeptical of brennan, and i do tire of the "system" quarterback charge but... the backup quarterback coming in and getting the same numbers brennan does in what, his first start? that made me question..
for me.. its mcfadden and tebow. mcfaddens performance against lsu seals at least his NY invite imho. and tebows amazing numbers with floridas monster schedule? put florida in any other conference and they are undefeated #1 now.

Isnt it interesting that the two biggest names in line for the Heisman are both basically Single Wing Tailbacks, McFadden and Tebow. Whats old is new again LOL

Brenan looked pretty good tonight. White and Daniels........not so much. Seems to me to be down to McFadden and Tebow. It's interesting that Ohio State is taking crap for advancing up the BCS without having played, but in this case Tebow will certainly take advantage of a poor performance by Chase Daniel while Tebow isn't playing.

Prez, good call. I am such a biased individual when it comes to things like this. I don't like Tebow this year, because I think he will be in the same spot next year and the year after. I think that Mcfadden would be a better candidate, because he seems to be a better football player.

IF I were to vote I'd go with Darren McFadden, Tim Tebow and Colt Brennan. I definitly would like to see Brennan get asked to go to New York. He definitly deserves it.
