Coaches- I am in the midst of setting up a new forum for the option. it is going to be very option specific. It is up, but I am still working on design and banner art . I would love for all the option people to have a common place to go with out being charged (Option Central) or old style Bulletin Board (Option Message Board) that is hard to follow. I still think Coach Heuy is the best on the net, but something option specific would be great too. IF you have any ideas please let me know. I would like to have as many Coaches involved as possible. optionfootball.proboards56.com/index.cgi

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope it becomes a valuable resource to coaches.
TOG- Still working on color and pics for the site. Probably wont be done for a few weeks, since the artwork is on my laptop at school, and I am out for another week.

Looks like a great idea. Those other sites you mentioned seems to have faded as the years have passed.

I was thinking about something like this as well. Huey or Tog, would it be worth it to set up some more sub boards for each section? Something like in O-run game you could have a zone board, an option board, a power board. Or in Off. drills maybe broken down by position? For D maybe a 4-3, a 3-4, a 4-4, a 46, and a 3-5 board. You could still keep the general boards in each area(so still have the run game board along with the zone/option/power). Might be easier for new members to find stuff on the site and could help some us who have been around awhile as well.

Another reason besides having a great search feature that huey mentioned, is the fact that boards that get TOO detailed in how they set up the forums generally die. It is too hard to find, and doesn't bring in people from other disciplines/mindsets. If I am a spread guy, how often am I going to go to the wing-t bucksweep section? If i just see a thread in a more general section that catches my eye, I can look at it and maybe be interested enough to post.

Feel like there's already a glut of specialized boards, especially option (DW, too?)

That's why I was thinking of keeping the original boards two, just thought it might be an opportunity to specialize a little bit. That way people don't have to set up their own option boards and whatnot, thye could just do it here, but feel they had more ownership of it than just a general forum. I do get the point of keeping it general though, more chance for interaction between disciplines. But as my idea was totally shut down by "the big two" I'll just happily go back to posting as usual! P.S. Huey, I was aware of the search button, just hard to find what you want sometimes because everyone calls everything different (think jet/fly/rocket sweep for example) but overall it is very useful. Just a thought P.S.S. - I love this website, great info and something new everyday.

I have learned [glow=red,2,300]A TON[/glow] of info just by reading different posts that would be buried in a different subboard.........

I think inside of the sections for example tog & huey, you could add specfic topics, like in the running game add flexbone section, wing-t section, Spread passing section. and still keep the general running board open, sometimes you just want to take a peek inside your specfic style of play or ask questions that would appeal to those intrested in that topic.
