Here is a link to some extra stuff from the story that I am sure many of you heard about a few months back dealing with the kids in Louisiana who were recruited during Katrina.
They brought in 5 players who played at a school down south. Three of them graduated and two remained. They took away last year's title and forced the two remaining kids to sit out for 2 weeks. Remaining is an all world QB, Randal Mackey. You will hear that name many times in the next several years. Very fast, very smart, very good arm.. very good QB.. who started on the varsity at his old school since the 8th grade. The other is a really good RB who is very smooth and athletic for his 210lb frame.

Here is the kicker. I spoke with the QB's former coach from south Louisiana over the weekend at the championship games. He is trying to get his QB to come home for his senior year. But the kids mother told him that they cant afford to leave. That they are paying for their house and pretty much everything else. She said they had it too good.
How do you as coaches feel about this sort of stuff? Not to mention that it was quoted earlier in the year that the HC told his assistants to go down there and give them the eye ball test, and if they could play for them to bring them back.
Also, in this weekend's championship game, this team had 20+ penalties for over 200 yards. One of which was on the HC on the sideline supposedly for some sort of contact with the other team's player. It was said that he pushed one of the players after he retaliated on one of his kids after they hit him out of bounds.
This program seems to be full of ghosts. What cost would you be willing to go to in order to win it all???
