What kind of floor covering would you put down? What kind and who would you buy your lockers from?

We have rubber flooding in our weight room. In FL. When it rains it gets very slippery.

It has to be the gummy stuff. Or some other surface with a bit of grip. I remember a tile that had a surface almost like skateboard deck tape

We just built a locker room. We put down a Dur-a-flex Dur-a-chip floor. It has great traction, is easy to clean, looks great, filled in uneven spots on the floor, won't have MRSA worries, etc. It comes in a variety of colors (and you can mix in flecks of various colors). I highly recommend it. A local company did the work for us. We bought our lockers from a local NC company. I was also impressed with the lockers from AIM in Texas. We came out cheaper by going with the more local company (shipping, installation, etc).

We always had carpet that looked good once installed, but quickly became pretty gross and had to replace it every couple of years, so I wouldnt go that route.
We are finally getting rubber mats, but my worry is it will be hard to clean. I have tried sweeping/vacuming in our weight room (which isnt attached to the school and gets extremely dirty) and it is quite difficult on those mats.
We do have two spigots in the locker room, so i suppose we can always just spray the place down.

Whatever's underneath has to be better, just exacto that stuff. The smell must have been horrifying.

We have carpet in our current locker room. I don't think you can put in a new building anymore. The only thing our kids have asked for is carpet. It is nasty!

We have carpet in both our Team and PE locker rooms.
This will be my fourth year at school and I couldn't tell difference between it now and when I started there.
Both rooms look like new and are always clean.
Our custodians take great pride in taking care of entire school and it shows.
We also require kids put cleats on and take them off outside of locker room and do not allow tape, Gatorade cups, anything left on floor.

Our kids don't work hard enough to sweat apparently.
Like I said, custodians keep it clean and smelling thusly. I don't ask how. I do know after every game when kids are gone the night guy comes in and goes to work on it.

I do know after every game when kids are gone the night guy comes in and goes to work on it. Our custodian staff cleans our locker room as well. We have our seniors throw away the trash and keep the locker room clean. Then every other day the custodian staff cleans it, vacuums it etc. at night. And don't locker rooms always smell? We have 60-80 kids, most have multiple cleats, shoulder pads absorb sweat through out the year, and stuff like that. Then again we also have pretty terrible ventilation in our locker room. Oh well, our locker room is receiving a massive make over this off season, (flooring, locker room, showers, paint and misc stuff like electrical sockets and vents are all getting replaced)
