Is it better to allow an offensive lineman in a comfortable stance then in a proper technique stance if the player can get off as fast or faster then his other linemen.

randall mcdaniel had about the most whacked out stance you can have he was a freak athlete that had some sort of injury that forced him into that funky stance and he still dominated

If the kid has been using his stance for a long period of time he is getting out of it better b/c the "right" stance feels ackward.
I would make him use your stance and he will get out of it faster as reps increase

The main thing I would be concerned with is when he is tired. That is when technique counts the most in my books. His stance may cause him to use more energy quicker than the "correct" stance. But if his level of play does not change even when he is tired. . . I would be somewhat ok with it. However, when you say "using the stance for a long period of time", if he is in junior high to 11th grade. . .I'd try to "tweak" it a bit.
