Quick question for the group - playing on my previous practice thread schedule.
Our roster size is currently in the high 30's to low 40's. We have a tough time finding places for the JV team to practice together. They are needed typically for scout work. JV games are on monday
What are some good ways you have found time to get exclusive team practice with a JV squad with a small roster size?

Our JV team is our #2's for varsity, so when we are doing varsity practice, they are getting some reps, and their reps are just lower than the varsity starters reps and they get their own entire "PRACTICE" is the JV game.

During every varsity game, when the varsity O is repping plays, the JV/Frosh team is also repping plays.

We normally have about one monday JV game a year. When this happens, They normally go through a light practice on Saturday while the rest of the team is doing weights/run walk jog. No more then an hour long.

We use Thursday after our Sparkle script for JV practice. Our Varsity becomes the scout group holding bags for JV O and Lining up in formations for JV D. We are in a similar numbers situation as you are casey so we have dedicated this time to the Jv. The added benefit has been the Var guys coaching up the JV guys.

JV games are on Monday. Tuesday and Wenesday JV's go through individual drills with varsity. During team, the JV's(who are not varsity backup's or scout team players) work at another end of the field with a coach. As far as prepping for JV game, the JV's prep for JV game Saturday morning while the varsity is lifting. We are able to do this because we have 6 varsity coaches in addition to 3 volunteer coaches.

We are in a similar position as Casey. However most of out JV guys (Freshmen and Sophmores for us) are not number 2's for varsity, but we still need them for scout. They go through all Indy time with the varsity, sometimes together sometimes side to side depending on the drill and coaches available. For team time we just plan about 20 minutes into the weekly schedule and this varies from week to week. Of course this sacrifices some of the time varsity could spend, but it is necessary in my opinion. To build a team and continuity those guys just can't be blocking dummies. They will also do walk troughs on Sat am. Obviously the scheme is simple at that level.

We would practice JV's on Saturday while varsity would run/lift/ice bath. Another alternative is to have the JV's dress out and practice if you are a team that does a no pads walkthrough on Thursday..

We don't have jv teams right now, but when I was in high school all players that were not two way starters or seniors practiced on Saturday day mornings for an hour and a half to two hours. This was our jv practice. Freshman were usually scout team for the jv.

We have similar numbers. One of the things that we have done is to go to running all of our team offense on air the day before the game. By doing this, we are actually able to rep 3 groups which is what we have to do if we are going with 11 vs. 11. We will have about a 25 minute "offense" segment that is only plays vs air (we are an option team so a lot of times I will line up as a read key and it becomes 11 on 1). I will stand with the #1s and call their plays based off what we expect to do on Friday night. The #2s will have a coach calling the same script that we do. The #3s will go with the JV playcaller and he will just call our base plays and formations with them. The whole focus of that 25 minutes is how fast can we get plays in. If there is something specific that we want to walk through with the varsity guys vs a defense, we will do that in the last few minutes of that segment.

If our JV has a home JV game on Monday we have them practice with us for 45 prior to their game. They get 25 min of time on their own to rep plays etc... We will give them time on Thursday's after our varsity mini game and then again on Friday if we have a home varsity game we have the JV our for practice right after school for 45-60 min.

We will run some half-line offense in practice and split up varsity and jv so they can get some more reps.
