Wasn't sure where to put this......we have a QB interested in throwing the Javelin in Spring track this year. Does anyone have experience with this? What I'm wondering is if anyone has every had it mess with his motion or mechanics at all?
Basically, do you foresee problems with it? Thanks.

Terry Bradshaw once held the national HS record.

I'm no track and field expert, but they're really totally unrelated techniques.

At least he wants to compete. Better than smoking dope and playing video games.

What if he`s into competitive dope smoking? If that were a sport, student participation in sports would quadruple.

If competitive dope smoking were a sport, my players would have a shot at a state title finally.

I think it would be fine. We have some kids at school who are in to competitive laziness.

Hey larrymoe, the player cares if it does. He asked me to find out.
Thanks.

Hey larrymoe, the player cares if it does. He asked me to find out. Thanks. You should probably reference that fact rather than coming off sounding like a meatball football coach that is only worried about how a kid's life will effect his success.

I believe you mean "affect" his success. I guess this meatball coach knows the difference between a noun and a verb.

What I'm wondering is if anyone has every had it mess with his motion or mechanics at all? I just didn't see any mention of your interest in the kids well being outside of how it would AFFECT his football performance in this question. And if you want to get gramatically correct on me, what exactly does that sentence mean?

Ultimately larrymoe, I think most coaches come on here to get advice, offer feedback, and talk about football. I think we do this with the thought that we won't be lectured on our motives by someone who doesn't know the first thing about why we're asking our questions. Best wishes to you.

I don't know where I "lectured" you. I haven't had a post over two sentences in this entire thread until now.
Perhaps I added too much personal speculation into your post. I apologize for that. That being said, I don't think it's beyond question that many statements are made on this site frequently that contradict themselves about what's best for student athletes. Many people on here freak out about their baseball or basketball coach not sharing or looking out for the best interests of the kids, but one of their first questions when addressing other sports is how will this AFFECT our football program. I, apparently wrongfully, assumed this when reading your post that asked what you wondered about how it would AFFECT his football playing ability.
