Anyone out there in charge, or have any experience, selecting head coaches for youth programs? How do you go about the process of selecting good coaches? Is it all subjective, depending on the candidates interview?
Its easy when there's only one candidate for the job, how about when it's several?

Ive hired over 200 youth coaches The proccess we use is detailed in this free e-book: There is NOTHING more important than the leadership and coaching staff in your program It is critical success factor 1,2,3 The best led and best coached programs always have the best retention and won/loss numbers

I not what my organizations process is but we do have a coaches selection committee. I do know that some of the factors are wins/losses, how long have you been a HC, How long have you been coaching, Also what coaches do you already have helping you.

Where I live, there wasn't much of a process. Pass a background check and you are good to go. But they were desperate for another coach so they rushed me through. Normally the prospective coaches met with the youth league board for an interview and other stuff, as I understand it
