Just curious to know how some of your teams are looking for '06 AND if there are any players who should go D1 next year.

We went 2-8 last year (first year at the school for the staff). We should win at least 3 more games. We have a lineman that should go D-1, but doesn't have the work ethic.

1-9 last year. Finished with 24 kids, 16 of those are gone. We return 0 starters and 2 lettermen. We have one returning senior. We will be young, we will keep it simple, we will improve every week, and we will have fun.

Worse than last year... but still a playoff caliber team

Trying to get back to the playoffs. New OC, as well as a new DLine Coach and I was assigned Defensive Co-Coordinator (I call the front 7) for this year. Tuff year last year but we really feel like we can work our way back up from the bottom of the Standings from last year. This is the 3rd year that HC has been the HC here (after 1 year as a DC) and this is by far the most athletic team we've had in those three years. We also have the best staff we've had in years. We just seem to have more peices to the puzzle. Real excited. And have a TE that has already commited to a D1 school. Things are looking up!

Second year with a new head coach. We finished 4-5 and lost 3 key games at the end because our seniors did not fully believe. We chased out a good number of bad apples and had low numbers on varsity. We also had to kick off our top senior in the last game of the season because of hazing. That caused us to miss the playoffs. Very hard season last year.
In our second year we have the kids we want in the program. Seniors are ten times better than last year, excited, and working thier a** off and now they fully understand our offense and defense. We will have around 47 or 50 on the varisty team (400 total in a school that is all-boys) and 130 on all levels in the program. Looking forward to the season and hope to go around 6-3 and make the playoffs. We play in one of the toughest small school conferences in Illinois. Don't have a lot of good athletes though.
Should be fun!

We are excited about this season. Lots of returners and lots of speed. Having said that, we are in a TOUGH District with 3 schools with many more kids and 2 of them scholarship the heck out of the local public kids. As a staff, we are shooting for 7-3 with the goal of knocking off at least one of those schools.

12-1 last fall. Lost 9 two year starters on defense. Will start 6 juniors on defense and another 3 seniors on defense who barely played last fall.
That being said, our whole returning backfield is coming back. QB and 3 RBs. We have a junior RB that will be a load.
Goal is to win the new league we're in and make a third consective trip to the D1 section championship game.

I hope that we will be a lot better than I think we will be. We were 20-3 over the past 2 years... could very easily start off 1-3(0-4?) this year. The team has high goals. Personally, my goal is for us to qualify for the playoffs (which now that the field has expanded, is reachable). We do have one borderline D1 player (most likely IAA).

We were 7-6 last year, and that equalled our worst season in the 5 years that I have been there. We should be much improved on offense, but how good we are will depend on how we break in a new front 7 on defense. Our kids have high goals and have been working hard and breaking it down on state champs all summer. Our QB is a D-1 prospect but not a QB, and there are a couple of other kids who could go 1-AA or DII

We lost 29 lettermen, have starters back at only seven positions including PK. So we will not be as good as last year.
However, our kids are used to winning (JVs were 8-1 last year, for ex.) and we don't HAVE to be as good as last year - just better than who we play this year.
Our kids will compete, and if they can overcome the coaching, we could be in the hunt for the league and make playoffs again.

We were 6-3 last year and should be a lot better up front. 90% of our struggles last year were due to lack of experience on both the O and D lines. All our skill guys are back with the exception of a 3 year starter and 2x all conf WR/FS. Have a traditional state power in our league that will have 21 new starters and a new team entering our league that has been traditionally tough as well. Excited to get going.

Went 10-2 last year. We will play 5 teams that will start the season ranked in the top 10. That being said we will also be ranked in the top 10 of our class. If we stay healthy I see no reason we cannot do very well. If we get banged up... We are also breaking in new starters at QB, TB, FB, and in several other key spots. If those kids do well=good things. IMO we will be very (very) tough on defense so I am excited to get things going!

I am new to the school, and we only return 2 starters on each side of the ball, but we have good numbers (about 60 kids in 9-12 at a school with about 260 in 9-12), decent size, a little speed, and a great attitude. We should win at least 5 games, but I think we could end up 7-2 or 8-1 if we create some breaks through hard work and desire.

13-0 last year but lose a heap of starters--fortunate to rebuild with jv players that were 9-0 last year.

We were 8-2 (+1 loss in playoffs). We're replacing our QB and offensive tackles (young ones will play there). We have 3 returning starters in the backfield from last season, and 2 solid WR's. We should be better than last season if I can coach these new tackles up and we get decent QB play. We are moving to a new league this season as well, with the #2 team in the state in our league and a traditionally strong league. Our out of conference is filled with teams from the next division up so we should be toughened up by the time the league games roll around.
We do have a small dilema though. One QB can't throw worth a darn, and the other can't run the option. So we may be going to a 2 QB system. The joys of youth!
