Sorry but the fan in me is going crazy. I just got back from day one of the clinic. Amazing!!! Corwin Brown is the nicest guy and very knowledgeable. The whole coaching staff was great. Got to watch them practice. Any one doubting Claussens arm has not had one of his passes zoom past there head after it bounced off of Duval's hands. Surprise WR was #80 I think that is Jackson. Fast, great hands, Strong. Surprise speaker had to be Grand Valley State's HC. It was late, I was tired and in a room that was about 100 degrees. He had my attention from the beginning. Very funny and fun. Also got a video of me walking down the Famous tunnel, touching the famous sign and entering the famous stadium. Tomorrows practice is full pads, if this thread doe sent get locked then I will let you know how it went. GO IRISH!!!!

I guess I wasent talking to much like a fan last time. I had a few of you PM me about the practice so I will update you on Saturdays practice.
Once again great practice full pads and A LOT of contact. 7:00am and you could not tell it. I was at one side of the field watching the "pretty boys" throwing and catching when I heard a huge it hit about 100 yards away. As I started to walk I heard one coach say there was a fight. I get there and the LBs are shedding blocks and getting to the ball carrier. INTENSE!!!! It was just like the "hoot and hollier" drill posted a couple days ago. Twice the team had to be broken up for to much intensity. Weis was there and he just let it go a little bit. Haywood actually got knocked over and got up laughing. We have a new punt returner. Sam Young. OK maybe not, but Weis put the 6"8 OLinemen back there to have some fun. He caught it and tokk off for 15 yds.
OK now the clinic. Pollian from the Colts spoke he was great. More of a motivational session. And Weis was last. He was great. He talked about making it simple for the QB. To answer some of your guys question. I would say ND's playbook is a watered down version of what he run at the Patriots. He showed film of a ND play and then of a Patriots play and it was the same. Since they opened the clinic to fans to Weis realized that and talked at a level that the coaches did not get bored and the fans could follow along to. He even took a kid out of the stands to show how easy the QB's reads are.
I would say as a fan it was worth 85 dollars to see 2 practices, tour the Locker room, eat with the team.
As a coach the seesion alone was worth it.
So, If you are a ND fan and a Coach definably check this clinic out next year. If your are not a ND fan, but respect the tradition then check it out to.
They did hand a notebook with about 200 pages in it. It had all the speakers bio's and notes om what they talked about. Most of them had notes some just had a page that you could take your own notes. If I knew how to get that on my computer I would share it with you guys.
Some of you want the DVD. I am getting one, but I have no DVD burner so I dont see a way to share that. I will look into the info if someone wants to buy one from the school.
One last thing Whats up with all of you closet ND fans? I know we sucked last year, but come on. JK Go Irish!

how were the HS speakers??? There was not to many there. I only caught the end of one on Saturday. I was out in the hall talking to some vender's and other coaches. Pretty much all day Friday was ND speakers, lunch, Tour the locker room and stadium/press box, practice and dinner. Then Saturday was practice, Weis and Pollian. With one or two high school guys. I had a few of your PM me about Weis. Now that I think about it if you were there only as a coach to learn from Weis then you might be disappointed. I think I was to much in the state of AWE that most of the coaches could of talked about how to make the perfect taco and I would of come away thinking that was the most informative clinic I have ever been to. I have been a ND fan for 29 years and a coach/ND fan for 1 year. I might not be the best person to talk about the X's and O's. If there was another coach there that could care less about being at ND I would love to hear what impression they come away with from the clinic. Weis did say something that made me think of you guys, He said coaching is more about the Jimmy's and Joe's then the X's and O's.

That is awesome that you got to go to that clinic. Like you I've been a big ND fan for a long time. My grandparents live 5 hours from South Bend,IN and I've never been there. Maybe this summer.

You should try to start making plans now for next years clinic. I met coaches there from all over the country. If you could find way to get to go to one it will be worth it. I must say it was the greatest 2 days of my life. (O yeah my son being born was pretty cool to)
