Awards are a part of the game at every level and should be used as incentive to work hard. I agree there can be too many but I think you can give them without necessarily handing each one out at the banquet. JMO the more important awards are the most improved or something standing for being a team player because they point out hard work and dedication. The best players don't always have to work hard if their skills are on another level but that kid that had to work extra hard to get playing time should get recognized. These are the ones that usually have the dedication to make it to the highest levels of whatever they end up doing.

Awards are a part of the game at every level and should be used as incentive to work hard. Just playing devil's advocate here because I don't really care one way or the other but- Why? What makes individual awards so important? Is really anybody in the weight room dreaming of getting Most Improved?
