Hey guys... I am planning on getting a form together for my assistant coaches to fill out so I can get an idea of what I feel I need to work on as the HC this offseason. We do one for the players so I figure why not evaluate me. Does anyone have a form already that I can take a look at and get some ideas? Also, if anyone has one they evaluate their assistants on, I would love to get a peek at it so I can come up with one as well. Player Evaluation Form

here is what I did..I had a private meeting with each coach after the season asking what we could do better etc...nothing formal just BSing but it was good and also relaxed..the meetings took longer than I thought they would take which I thought was good..I still felt that they were hesitant to tell me some negative stuff, though some did..what I did was set up an anonymous google form that they could fill out giving me criticism..i thought that worked well and I really couldn't tell who said what except for one of the guys asking for better coaching gear because he used to whine about it from time to time..LOL

I got hammered on here about a year ago about all the stuff I give my coaches... they can't complain about that!

It wasn't for the amount of stuff you give your assistants, it was for the amount of fundraising you make your kids do to give you assistants that stuff. Back to the original topic- If you're assistants are anything like mine, the ones that give you problems, or disagree with what you're doing, won't tell you the truth anyway, so it could be a waste of your time.

Larrymoe,
I am interested to see what my assistants say now that our season is over. I am curious to what they will say as well. I already know what most of the concerns will be, likewise I also know what most of my staffing adjustments will be next year.

we filled out a sheet that was a self evaluation on a 3 point scale with an area for how we could improve on those areas or what we need to do to get better. Then there was an area for 3 things we think that as an HC our header could do better. What helps is that we all have a very open relationship with our HC and most of us are comfortable about saying what we feel, could be different though if we had different personalities or if our header wasn't as approachable.
