Thoughts go out to you and your team.
When this has all gone through, will you give us an update on how you, your staff and your players handled the situation? While its a terrible thing it is certainly a learning experience and your recount could be beneficial to any one of us.

Sure, the kids decided we need to play this game in honor of Beau Szoke.

Very sorry to hear of a loss of any kind, let alone a young man like that. Prayers with you, the family and your team coach.

Been there. We lost twin brothers in an accident a few years back. Lots of prayers going your way. It's never easy when a program has a loss like this.

...and all of a sudden, things that seemed very important yesterday, just aren't anymore.
My heart goes out to you, coach - I lost a player nine years ago, and it never entirely goes away. You come to terms with it, but it's always there. Prayers as you help lead your kids through this...

Waverly had a tough night against a strong Falcon team tonight. That said, I don't think the Tigers could have been treated any better by our friends from Minford. They showed respect to Beau, the Szoke family, our school and our community. They allowed us to mourn. And at the end of the game, both football teams joined in the center of the field for a moment of prayer lead by a big tackle from Minford! A class act all around! The young man's family came to the game because the sister in the hospital said they should. The dad came and joined the two teams at the end of the game. It was very emotional but awesome all in one.

. We have to move our senior lap to tonight this year since we lost a player last week in a tragic car wreck. His viewing is tomorrow night in the school Gym and we all will go to it. Our seniors are fine with this change. The young man's funeral is at 12:30 Friday so it will be a long day for our kids but they will get through this. The family is so upbeat and wanting to celebrate the young man's life that it will be uplifting to our players. The delay was caused by waiting for the boy's sister to recover and get out of the hospital so she could attend the Celebration of Life. www.legacy.com/obituaries/chillicothegazette/obituary.aspx?n=beau-allan-szoke&pid=160615936&fhid=8652

I've never had to go through this, and I dread the day that I do... I'm told every coach will go through it at some point, I just hope it never happens. Prayers for your town and I hope the healing process has started.

Took me 30 years before it happened and I hope you never have to go through it, coach! Tigers won big last night(52-6) but the day was Beau's and we celebrated his life and will never forget what a special young man he was.
