So put your receivers at DB and you can play more C0 to boost your run D.

Im kind of in the same boat. Our defense cant stop anyone and Ive been debating on kicking onsides every time also. Our best defense is our ball control offense. We are a dw dte. My problem on d is we dont have the athletes. We literally have lineman at lbs and small cbs and safeties. Ive always coached with the motto of "put kids in positions so they can succeed" this is the first year where I know our lb cant make the play but I have no alternative.

We do that... we are straight cov 0... but those speedy receivers are covering those BIG backs and they are not all that found of contact... We try to spill the ball... just having trouble spilling when they are running 3 big brutes to kick out on QB power...

To me, onside kicking everytime is not going to fix your problem. Your problem is your defense. IMO you should work on that. You obviously have the jimmys if you're scoring 83 points in a game. Get them on defense!!

Get them on defense!! I'm going to piggyback on this and say yes you should work on defense. Make those guys be much bigger and stronger in the next 3 days and you will start stopping people. C'mon...At this point in the season you are trying to put a bandaid on the situation and win games. Make philosophical decisions in the off season. Correct your faults on defense, if it is coaching/scheme, in the off-season. Six or seven weeks in is not the time to change any scheme.

Wacky idea, but you could put suicidal midgets at DT and have them cut. This would free up a couple guys, and you could get a 1-for-1 trade on the cut that would give up your bad for their good. I believe you're in a Bear look, so you can trade 3-for-3 and try to restore the talent balance playing 8-on-8. It also makes a huge messy pile in the middle.

How do you have all this offensive talent and none on defense? Just have some speed at receiver and a great QB... I was in this basic situation last year, it's truly perplexing.
