a spread offense that went to this "tandem" look and a spinner series after blowing up their opponent in the first 3 qtrs.

Good stuff, Brophy.
Metamora High School here in Illinois recently won the Class 5A State Championship and ran a similar formation:
OOOXOOO ----------O--O ---O-O
If the formatting didn't hold up, it is a shotgun double tight look with two slotbacks. Slotbacks line up in the OT/TE gap and outside the TE (like a traditional wingback)
It was very effective...the dub tight front spread the defense out and they had excellent downblock angles and the ability to counter with the tight "bunch" look. Also, they were able to run lead plays very effectively.

Stonebridge is not a spread team first. They are a single wing first, spread second.

Great to see that kind of innovation in this, the 101st year of the single wing... ;D ;D

Stonebridge is not a spread team first. They are a single wing first, spread second. Troy is right. They're a single-wing that runs some spread, not the other way around.

i played for th head coach at Stonebridge when he was at another school in VA. He rarely goes to spread sets unless it by game plan. This being a playoff game would have been one of those times. he stays mainly to single wing formations

Potomac pretty much shut down the single wing in the first half, so they had to go to the spread. They looked like a better team in the spread, than in the single wing. I think the QB (the coaches son) threw for 4 TD passes.
We are sitting talking about their offense but that Stonebridge Defense was GREAT!!! Made Potomac look like it was their first scrimmage.
