Never had one on my team. But I did play against one. She was the kicker and had just broken up with one of our players....opening kickoff was interesting to say the least.

Title IX is about opportunity, not total numbers. I don't think that will come to pass. I feel the same way, and brought that up, but the point was made that if there aren't equal numbers participating then there must be something in the school's culture that is repressing them in a way that is forcing them away from choosing sports. I don't mean for this to turn into a political debate, or have everyone bring up their opinions on Title IX; but this is what I was told.

I had a funny experience when coaching a 12U team several years ago during weigh in. The limit was 145 for skilled players and 165 for interior players and the procedure calls for the scale to be put on the limit and the players step up on the scale with the opposing team having a designated coach review the player's ID card and say good or have the player step to the side to be allowed to strip down for a final chance to make the limit after everyone else goes through the process. I told George to step to the side after "he" tipped the scale over the 165 limit. After all of the other players went through the process the other teams representative asks, "who is our female representative?" I asked what in the world are you talking about. Come to find out "George" is actually "Georgianna". I had to scramble to find the wife of our park president to observe her weigh in which she came in exactly on the number.
To this day I tease my guy who is currently a senior D-lineman who will probably get a chance to play at a good small college football program about how George kicked his butt back in the day, lol.

We had a girl that played DLine for us about 6 years ago on a team that made the state finals. She was good and would hit. I think she is the only girl I have seen that could have played FCS football. She was good, but college coaches said they couldn't offer. She had 13 tackles one game, and started part of the season.
