This year was shaping up to be one of my best for football. My H.S. team (freshman) are very young but coming along nicely. My youth football team will dominate this year. My son is a jr and is the starting qb for varsity. He has a legit chance to play some college ball. 6'3 195, benches 290 runs a 4.6, 15 yrs old. Well he has been having elbow trouble. Thought to be tendonitis, not getting better. Monday he is going to a sports specialits for an MRI to see if his elbow has a torn ligament or tendon. Really bummed if this is the case. He has worked out since november 2hrs a day four days a week. He and I where so looking forward to this season.

If it was my kid, and he had been working this whole time.. all the boring stuff and hard work... I couldnt pull the plug on him just before the fun stuff Would it be possible to schedule the surgery the week after the season is over, and have him manage it the best he can this year... It would give him the entire off season to rehab and prepare for his senior year but it wouldnt cost him a year of football

He had mri this morning, nothing was torn, thank God. He has disital humeral medial apophysitis. Don't really know what that is. Waiting for the dr. To call so we can go from there but not a season ender. All his ligaments and muscles where normal, that's the important thing. On his mri results they call it little leaguers elbow.

Piece of his growth plate broke off is what that means. Had the same thing happen to me when I was 12. Throwing too many curveballs. Couple of weeks he will be fine.
