Sorry gentlemen, I have not been on the site for awhile and perhaps my navigation is shaky. Looking for some team building ideas. What you got?

the best way IMO to do team building is to get the kids out of their comfort zones and working together as a team (smaller teams typically work better, makes them get more hands on). do things that they do in summer camp, like a scavenger hunt, trust falls, and things of that nature.
you could also split them up into teams and have a mini-olympics type thing. pick, say 8 seniors (or better yet, let them nominate 8 seniors) to be the team captains (don't even have to be seniors, just 8 players). have things like tug-o-war, ultimate football tournament, push up competitions, stuff like that.
get together your events, and add up the totals for a winner. u can make it where, say, the last place team has bag duty for a month, or locker room clean up for a month or something like that. any time u can get the kids competing against each other, you will have leaders step up and the guys will become closer because of it. hope this helps!

Team Bowling always seems to be a good one for some reason...maybe because everyone sucks at it!

Break your team into small groups. Have each assistant be accountable for one group. Have a series of team meetings where you pick a group of words...trust, accountability, success, and respect. Then have the counter to these words. Have each group discuss and form a group definition. Have them read their definition to the rest of the team, and so on. When they have conluded, have the HC give his definition to these words. Your staff beliefs of these traits may be vastly different than your players. It will help get everyone on the same page. The more diverse the group the more eye-opening these differences will be. Kids assume that everyone may not have it exactly like they do, but pretty close. Do your best to make sure that the groups are divided so that each position group and class is represented. Guys that never spoke to each other will learn a great deal about that individual.

I know this is ridiculously long overdue fellas but thanks. Our season was something that I didn't quite expect and I was on here zero times. Thanks again, hope you all had good seasons.

an overnight camping trip.
We do a passing tourney at the coast (about 3 hours away) at the end of every summer. Huge team building experience. The kids love the "vacation" they get. and the night becomes a big team meeting. Great experience.

we have done paintballing in the past. This year we are going to do a movie night and watch the documentary the boys of fall and order pizza. Bowling wouldn't be something I think about doing this year.

Weight room. Team that sweats together stays together. I also agree with other earlier activities too.

Weight room is huge. We compete in all speed/agility training and then we always play games after workouts one time a week.
Some type of fun game goes a long way to creating a "I want to be part of this" athmosphere.

50 mile bike ride fundraiser... kids accomplishing something together that none of their peers other than football players are willing to do. Great way to raise money too!

I believe that a character development program that is tied into a off-season training (I like the 4th quarter program at Alabama), team camp (something that gets the kids away), and conversations during the season about the team helps.

There are some good videos on youtube about building a winning program, building a championship program etc that have good ideas.
This year we may well have our kids do a cookout at a freshwater lake, fish, boat and swim all day.

Don't know if this has been stated yet, but break your team up into 5-6 teams. Led by your captions or Seniors. Allow them to have a type of draft to choose their teams. Once that is done. allow them to compete in different events. i.e obstacle course, tug-a-war,etc. pretty good team building events.
