My stepson and I have a flag football organization. 3 teams in 3 different age brackets: 5-7 yr olds, 10 and under and 12 and under. My question for all you coaches is this: What techniques do you all have to help in the development of young quarterbacks? As the players progress in the organization (moving up in age) the passing skill becomes more important. As a 5 to 7, we are looking at 70% run, 30% pass. While at the 12 yr old level it is more of the 90/10 split.
Thanks for your input.

On the rules, we play in two different leagues one runs, spring, summer and fall. This winter our 12 yr old team is playing in a league where there are 8 men per side, straight rush. The other league is 7 v 7, with a 5 second delay before rushing. I am looking for a way to strengthen and develop the younger qb's with drills and getting the proper footwork and throwing mechanics.

Check out the Darrin Slack link quarterbackacademy.com/Also I've seen some QB manuals in the download section. And you can check out the Passing game forum as I've see stuff there also.
