Looking for ideas on a player duties wheel to put in locker room. By grades? By position? I couple of duties i was looking at so far are; equipment out, pick up equipment, pick up locker room. Any other ideas? Anyone want to share a pic of there wheel?
Thanks!

We don't have a "wheel."
Assign equipment duties by positions:
WRs cones and scrimmage vests ("pinnies").
RBs line spacers ("hoses")
QBs balls
OL hand shields and agile bags
If equipment isn't brought out or not put away entire group gets "MEDs" post-practice next day (Memory Enhancement Drills).
All are responsible to keep locker room clean with captains to insure.
If that's a problem entire team gets MEDs. It hasn't been.

Really love the MEDs acronym. I'm going to steal it. If our kids do something, they spin the "PIE Wheel" which is Personal Improvement Exercise.

We just change it up by class every week
I.e. WEEK 1: Field Set Up: Freshmen Field Clean Up: Sophomores Water bottles filled and put in positions: Juniors Water bottles picked up: Seniors
If it isnt done right, that class will be "reminded" at the end of practice.
rotate every week. Coaches are responsible for writing on whiteboard in lockeroom what equipment they need where before practice. Has worked for us for 5 years

For us, each kid has one job for the entire season. They pick their job according to pride points rank at the end of summer. A little organization in early August keeps the problems away during the season. And it helps my kids' off-season motivation.

So far as field equipment, our rule is if you use it, you police it.
For water stuff, that is our managers (ran through our trainers)
For the locker room clean up/inspection, we just rotate through the varsity dress list. (for example: # 23 & #24 have clean up today) however, all the clean up crew has is to make sure that all the other cats policed their area. If #81 left his pads out, then they report that to the equipment coach. Or if the area around #21, #25, #92, #75, & #46's lockers has a bunch of used tape, drink cups, dirty socks, etc... then they report that to the equipment coach. Basically their job is to run everybody out of the locker (no after practice social hour) and remind everyone to police themselves.

ED is to move that pile from one end to the other.

We always preach servant leadership. Seniors are responsible for everything.
As far as position drills go, the seniors must find the coach before practice and see what drills need to be set up. They need to clean up the field afterwards as well, or the entire senior class will run.
We then give the captains a list of responsibilities that need to be taken care of, balls out, locker room, water, etc. etc. They are in charge of assigning every senior to a specific area, and we as coaches, can make adjustments of course.
