We are in the process of building our own field for junior high football. We have had several donation, and 1 thing we want 2 do is create a donation grid on the football field where we deed (fake) pieces of the field to donors. Has anyone done this b4? We are new at this, never even heard of deeding the field. I've seen ppl buy bricks etc. that are part of a walkway leading up 2 the field, but never pieces of the field. We have 96 slots divided up on our preliminary plan of the field, and we were thinking of doing 3 stages of donations, $100, $200, and $250 and above (maybe bronze, silver and gold clubs or something like that). Any thoughts?

I think it's a great idea to raise some funds, but how will you acknowledge their donations? That would be my one questions about this. People will want to be acknowledged, for the most part.

I LOVE this idea. You could place all donors names on some sort of permanent plaque at the entrance to the stadium.

Or put them on bricks if you use brick for the walk way. Or have their name written into the cement.
Or... somehow inscribe their names on the field goal posts.... I don't know if that's allowed but it could be cool

This is what a neighboring school did for their new complex. The donation plaques are on the side of their concession stands, with different size plaques meaning different size donations. Their donations were substantial starting with anything under $2500, 2501 - 5000, 5001 - 10, 000, 10001 - 50, 000 etc.
They also sold seating for a new set of bleachers. I believe a seat was $250 a piece and then they put their names on the seat ot show the donation.
I don't know if this is what you were thinking, but another possible idea.
